Palestinian issue must be resolved based on international resolutions, says GCC SG

Amman, Feb. 12 (Petra) – Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi affirmed the GCC’s unwavering and consistent stance on the Palestinian issue, advocating for the Palestinian people to receive all their legitimate rights, including the full recovery of their occupied territories.

This statement was made during his participation in the “State of the Arab World” panel at the 2025 World Government Summit in Dubai on Wednesday.

Al-Budaiwi stressed that the Palestinian issue is indivisible and must be resolved based on international resolutions issued by the United Nations and the Security Council. He called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and support the Palestinian people in securing their legitimate rights.

He emphasized the importance of intensifying diplomatic and peaceful efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, one that ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, while safeguarding the rights of refugees in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and international legitimacy resolutions.
