
Madaba, Sept. 24 (Petra) – HRH Princess Basma bint Talal, Chairperson of the Higher Committee of the Goodwill Campaign, delivered the campaign’s aid packages to a number of families in Madaba governorate, in partnership with Salam Charity UK.
During visits to Bashayer Al-Nour and Takaful charitable associations in Madaba, Her Royal Highness also handed out e-learning cards for various school subjects to students from underprivileged families preparing for the Tawjihi exams to help improve their academic performance.
Princess Basma announced the campaign’s support for a mosaic-making project at Bashayer Al-Nour Charity Association, aimed at training persons with disabilities to reintegrate them into society and secure a source of income. She also pledged support for a productive project at Takaful Charitable Society.
In the presence of Madaba Governor Hassan Jbour, Princess Basma affirmed the campaign’s “commitment” to continuing its humanitarian efforts in cooperation with supporters and partners to improve lives of targeted households through various forms of assistance.
The campaign, in line with its humanitarian mission, “prioritizes” contributing to national efforts to reduce poverty and unemployment through programs designed to meet the needs of families in target areas across the Kingdom, she pointed out.
Princess Basma noted the campaign works to empower women and strengthen their economic participation in the labor market through training, qualification programs, and partnerships with the private sector, as well as by supporting women’s home-based projects that help provide income for families.
Her Royal Highness expressed appreciation to all campaign partners and supporters, both national and international, for their contributions to achieving the campaign’s humanitarian goals and reaching its target groups.
The Princess praised the partnership with the Salam Charity UK and its role in supporting campaign programs, highlighting the campaign’s “distinguished” partnerships with both the public and private sectors to benefit families and vulnerable groups.
During the visit, Princess Basma was briefed on the campaign’s interventions and programs implemented in cooperation with local associations.
For their part, Bashayer Al-Nour Chairperson Siham Taamari outlined the association’s mission since its establishment in 2012, focusing on serving the local community, empowering women, and integrating persons with disabilities through its mosaic workshop.
Takaful Charitable Society Chairperson Insaf Abu Ghura presented the association’s programs since its founding in 2023, which include supporting underprivileged families, orphans, students in need, and the elderly, in addition to women’s empowerment.
Bilal Abu Tina, Chairman of the Madaba Camp Services Improvement Committee, commended the Goodwill Campaign’s humanitarian efforts to support underprivileged families, empower women and youth, and improve living conditions, noting the committee’s role in enhancing services provided to citizens in cooperation with local institutions.
