Amman, Feb. 5 (Petra) — The Public Security Directorate (PSD) has issued a safety warning to citizens ahead of a powerful low-pressure system expected to impact the Kingdom in the coming days. The system is forecast to bring heavy rain, strong winds, and the potential for flash floods in certain areas.
In a statement released today, the Directorate urged the public to exercise extreme caution, particularly by avoiding low-lying areas and valleys where the risk of flooding is higher. It also stressed the importance of driving carefully in adverse weather conditions to prevent accidents and advised staying indoors during heavy rainfall, unless absolutely necessary.
Additionally, the PSD called for the safe use of heating devices, regular ventilation of homes, and securing loose objects that may be affected by high winds. It reminded citizens to contact the emergency number (911) for immediate assistance if needed.
The Directorate assured that it is fully prepared to respond to any emergencies and encouraged everyone to stay informed through weather updates and adhere to official safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of all.
