Amman, May 12 (Petra) — The Public Security Directorate (PSD) said on Monday that celebratory vehicle processions are a public security threat and that it will further crackdown on such violations.
“Processions with people outside car windows are a clear violation punishable by law, as they disrupt traffic and pose a serious public safety risk,” the PSD said in a statement.
It said it will intensify a campaign to apprehend violators and take legal action against them, stressing that traffic safety is a “shared responsibility based on cooperation, commitment and respect of others using the road.”
A celebration can take place in “a civilized and safe way in which to protect lives and give a positive image through sound preventative behaviors,” said the statement.
