Amman, Oct. 20 (Petra) – The Ministry of Public Works and Housing ranked third among ministries in the National Integrity Index, while the Government Tenders Department secured first place among government institutions, according to the results of the index’s second cycle for 2024/2025.
Minister of Public Works and Housing Engineer Maher Abul Samen said following the announcement of the results that the ministry’s and the department’s high rankings crown ongoing efforts to improve institutional performance through modernizing work systems, expanding service digitalization, and developing legislation governing tenders and public procurement in line with international best practices. These efforts, he noted, help simplify procedures and reduce bureaucracy.
Abul Samen added that the integrity index contributes to improving the business environment and strengthening transparency and accountability within an institutional framework that governs relations and authorities with partners. He pointed out that the ministry is working to automate technical procedures and services to achieve higher efficiency in performance.
He noted that the index serves as a measurement tool within a system of standards that encourage government institutions to engage in positive competition in the fields of integrity and governance. He stressed that this achievement serves as motivation to continue development and modernization toward creating a work environment resistant to corruption.
Abul Samen emphasized that this distinction places greater responsibility on everyone to double efforts to maintain the achievement and further improve performance to secure first place among ministries, thereby reinforcing the values of rule of law, justice, equal opportunity, and transparency within the government work environment.
