
Ramtha, Oct. 20 (Petra) – President of the Ramtha Municipality Committee, Jamal Abu Ubaid, and a team from the Belgian agency for international cooperation (Enabel) discussed the findings and recommendations of a recent assessment study on the level of municipal services and the inclusion of refugees within them.
The meeting also discussed arrangements for upcoming activities and policy dialogue workshops, as well as the development of a comprehensive action plan aimed at strengthening the municipality’s role and enhancing the efficiency of its staff in the areas of economic and social development and expanding the scope of service inclusiveness.
Abu Ubaid said the cooperation aims to enable the municipality to address the growing challenges resulting from the pressure of refugee influxes on infrastructure, services, and local resources. He highlighted the importance of the study’s findings in identifying future work priorities to ensure fairness in service delivery to all residents.
For their part, the Belgian agency team commended Ramtha Municipality’s efforts in managing the burdens associated with hosting refugees, affirming their commitment to continuing support for the municipality to strengthen its institutional capacities and improve its basic services.
