
Amman, Feb. 9 (Petra) – President of the Senate Faisal Fayez met on Sunday with Saudi Ambassador Nayef bin Bandar Al Sudairy, whose tenure in Jordan has come to an end.
Fayez praised the deep-rooted Jordanian-Saudi relations, emphasizing the commitment of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to further strengthening these ties.
He also commended Saudi Arabia’s supportive stance towards Jordan, particularly its rejection of any proposals advocating the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza to Jordan and Egypt.
Additionally, he lauded Saudi Arabia’s role in backing Jordan’s efforts to resolve the Palestinian issue based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution.
He thanked Sudairy for his contributions to enhancing relations across various sectors, particularly in economic, investment, and parliamentary fields, as well as in fostering cultural and social connections between the two nations.
For his part, Al Sudairy expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support he received from Jordanian officials, which he said facilitated his mission in strengthening bilateral ties. He also thanked Fayez for his continuous collaboration in advancing relations between the two countries.
Separately, Second Deputy Speaker of the Senate Abdullah Nsour also met with Al Sudairy to discuss ways to sustain and expand Jordanian-Saudi relations.
The two sides reviewed regional developments and reaffirmed the historical and strategic partnership between their nations across various fields.
