Amman, Feb 23 (Petra) – Jordanian meteorological stations recorded a sharp drop in surface temperatures on Sunday morning across several regions.
The lowest temperatures were recorded at Queen Alia International Airport (-4.0 C), Ras Munif (-3.5 C), Shoubak (-3.3 C), Salt (-2.2 C), Tafileh (-2.0 C), Amman Airport Station (-1.3 C), and Zarqa (0 C).
The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) expects the sharp decline in surface temperatures to continue overnight and into Monday morning, with subzero temperatures anticipated in many areas, increasing the likelihood of frost and ice formation.
The JMD urged farmers, drivers, and citizens to exercise caution against frost and icy conditions and to take necessary precautionary measures.
