Amman, September 3 (Petra) – The Social Security Corporation will continue disbursing pensions to all retirees over the age of 80 without interruption, according to the Corporation’s statement.
Corporation spokesperson Shaman Majali noted that a new digital platform for registering births and deaths will soon be launched by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in cooperation with the Health Ministry and the Civil Status and Passports Department.
The initiative aims to streamline and modernise government procedures by electronically linking government, private and military hospitals to a unified system for recording birth and death data.
He explained that the platform will address the issue of delayed or unreported deaths, enabling the Social Security Corporation and other relevant authorities to access accurate and timely data.
This will enhance the efficiency and precision of transactions related to subscribers and their beneficiaries, Majali said.
The platform will offer integrated services such as a “birth package,” which includes birth notification, issuance of a birth certificate and updates to the family book.
The system is being piloted in 17 hospitals across various sectors, with plans to expand it to all 120 hospitals in Jordan by the end of October. Full electronic integration with the Civil Status and Passports Department is expected.
Efforts are underway to coordinate with municipalities to incorporate burial permit registration into the platform.
