Spain’s FM Welcomes Steady Increase in Trade with Morocco

This trade has reached almost 24 billion euros over the last three years, Albares said in an interview with Onda Cero radio.

He also noted that Spain and Morocco are at the “best moment in their relations,” welcoming the “close cooperation” between the two countries in several areas, including the fight against terrorism and human trafficking.

“Morocco plays an absolutely fundamental role in the fight against human trafficking gangs and terrorist groups,” he said.

According to figures from the Spanish State Secretariat for Trade, Spanish exports to Morocco between January and October 2024 totaled 10.84 billion euros, up 6.8%, while Moroccan exports to Spain amounted to 8.220 billion euros, up 9.1%.

Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares on Monday hailed the steady increase in trade between Spain and Morocco, which has reached record levels.
