Olympics Oman Participates in MENA Regional Equestrian Championship in Al Ain
Al
Ain, 25 Aug (ONA) —Special Olympics Oman team is participating in the Special
Olympics MENA Regional Equestrian Competition, which is being held in Al Ain,
the United Arab Emirates, during 25-27 August 2025.
This
participation reflects Oman’s commitment to empowering athletes with
intellectual disabilities, honing their skills, and giving them the opportunity
to compete and interact with their peers from different countries. It also
underscores Oman’s dedication to raising community awareness of the
capabilities of this group and supporting the advancement of sports for
individuals with intellectual disabilities both regionally and internationally.
The
list of athletes includes Suhail Al Manji, Thuraa Al Ghafri, Maithaa Al Busaidi,
Omar Al Hamdani, Al Khalil Al Rawahi, and Fatima Al Harthy. They are supervised
by a coaching and administrative staff led by coach Moath Al Amri and Zamzam Al
Alawi.
The
Special Olympics Oman delegation participated in the championship’s preparatory
technical meeting. The meeting, attended by Nabila Al Harthy, National Director
of the Special Olympics Oman, discussed various organizational and technical
aspects, the general competition program, and the importance of active
participation by the athletes, which promotes the values of fair competition
and sportsmanship.
