Amman, May 13 (Petra) – The Social Security Corporation (SSC) announced its retirees are set to receive an annual salary raise of JD5.80 for the current year.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the SSC noted the annual inflation allowance for the beneficiary retirees is a “legal entitlement.”
Under the Social Security Law No. (1) of 2014 and its amendments state, retirement and disability pensions are linked to inflation or the annual growth rate of average wages.
As for the mechanism, the SSC disburses the specified upper limit, which is decided in May each year, adding that the allowance is paid equally for retirement and disability pensions.
The corporation also indicated that a total of 233,698 retirees benefited from this increase, confirming that the amount will be disbursed to retirees’ salaries starting this May.
