Transport minister calls for expediting Amman Civil Airport’s operation procedures

Amman, August 17 (Petra) – Minister of Transport, Dr. Nidal Qatamin, stressed the importance of expediting completion of licensing and operation procedures for Amman Civil Airport (ACA) within the specified timeframe.

The minister’s remarks came during an expanded meeting held at the ministry’s headquarters, attended by Chairman of Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Captain Haitham Misto and other officials from relevant authorities.

Talking at the meeting, Qatamin said the project represents a “national priority that requires the highest level of follow-up.”

“Operating the airport will enhance the Kingdom’s position as a major hub for air traffic and aviation activities in the region and contribute to enhancing competitiveness and raising efficiency of the civil aviation infrastructure,” he pointed out.

Additionally, he called for regularly following up on implementation and sending detailed reports on progress rates to the ministry.

Qatamin also urged the relevant authorities to provide all technical and operational requirements, in accordance with the “highest” international standards, ensuring the airport’s “readiness and sustainability as a major contributor” to the air transport sector.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed all the airport’s technical and administrative details, while participants presented a comprehensive vision on licensing requirements and the necessary preparation plans to resume the airport’s “optimal” operation.
