Amman, August 20 (Petra) – Minister of Transport, Dr. Nidal Qatamin, chaired an expanded meeting on Wednesday to discuss the 2nd executive program for Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) for the years 2026-2029.
The discussion went over quality of the projected projects within the EMV’s second executive program, focusing on their “qualitative and implementable” nature to achieve a direct impact, enhance infrastructure, support economic competitiveness, and meet citizens’ needs.”
The stakeholders also reviewed achievements of the first phase for the years 2023-2025.
Talking at the meeting, Qatamin called for coordinating efforts and working diligently among all relevant stakeholders.
The minister added that transport projects should be selected with “value and a direct and positive impact” on citizens to facilitate trade and achieve the desired economic benefits for Jordan.
The minister said the second executive program represents a “major strategic” step that requires “genuine” cooperation and concerted efforts.
This effort, he noted, should keep pace with development, specialization, science, and knowledge in the transport field to ensure the comprehensive achievement of the vision’s goals.
According to a ministry statement, the meeting focused on the key priority and value-added projects, which have “tangible impact” on citizens’ lives and the services.
On other goals, the stakeholders highlighted these projects’ role in supporting transport infrastructure, enhancing the investment environment, and generating job opportunities, and building on the achievements of the first implementation phase.
The minister stated success of this program depends on “true” partnership between all official institutions and the private sector.
The transport sector will be at the forefront of sectors supporting the process of economic modernization and sustainable development in the Kingdom, he pointed out.
Held within the framework of preparing to launch the EMV’s second implementation program, the meeting aimed to achieve the desired outcomes that would “smoothly” implement the vision’s goals, enhance the transport sector’s contribution to supporting the national economy, and improve level of services provided to citizens.
