Amman, Oct. 6 (Petra) – Transport Minister Nidal Qatamin met with Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) officials on Monday to discuss development of air cargo operations.
During the meeting, Qatamin was briefed on the national carrier’s measures to enhance air cargo services, including the expansion of the new air cargo center at Queen Alia International Airport. The project aims to increase cargo handling efficiency and improve services for exporters and importers, boosting Jordan as a regional logistics hub.
The initiative also includes cooperation with Jordan Post to revive the e-commerce center at the airport, supporting Jordan’s position in regional e-commerce.
RJ plans to acquire dedicated aircraft to meet growing demand and promote the Kingdom as a logistics hub for global companies, such as Amazon, Temu, and Shein. The project complements efforts to improve land, air, and sea connectivity with neighboring countries.
Qatamin noted the project’s potential to boost commercial activities, serve the national economy, and enhance Jordan’s competitiveness in transportation and logistics.
