
Irbid, Oct. 1 (Petra) – Yarmouk University (YU) President Malek Sharairi on Wednesday met with Zainul Arifin, the Director of Indonesia’s Darul Arifin Islamic Institute, to explore ways to enhance academic and cultural cooperation.
Talking at the meeting, Sharairi highlighted YU’s efforts to expand partnerships with universities and institutes in Islamic countries and increase student enrollment.
Noting the university’s focus on Arabic and Islamic studies, he noted students from Islamic countries receive equal tuition treatment as their Jordanian peers.
He praised the 424 Indonesian students currently enrolled at Yarmouk University, which is “committed” to providing an environment for preparing them to be ambassadors for Jordan and the university after graduation.
Sharairi also expressed readiness to cooperate with Darul Arifin under APSOL platform at the Language Center for Arabic teaching programs.
In turn, Zainul Arifin welcomed the joint collaboration, praising YU’s academic reputation and caliber of Indonesian graduates, mainly in Arabic and Islamic studies and stressing potential for launching new partnerships to benefit students and their educational paths.
