Gaza Strip, Jan 7 (Petra) — Thirty-one Palestinians were killed and 57 injured in three massacres by Israeli forces across the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, the Gaza Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
That raised to 45,885 the death toll from the ongoing war, which began 15 months ago, and the total number of injuries to 109,196, it said in the latest update of casualties. It added that many victims were under the rubble of targeted buildings or were on roads beyond reach of ambulances.
The ministry warned in a statement of a “humanitarian catastrophe” as Gaza hospitals were out of oxygen and medicines refrigerators and nurseries out of power with no fuel supplies.
There is no fuel stock in hospitals since Israel slowed supplies to a bare trickle at the start of the war, it said, adding that the occupation army was diverting aid convoys, including fuel trucks, to roads where thieves and bandits stole them under its watchful eye.
The last fuel shipment through international organizations was robbed yesterday on its way to hospitals, it said, calling on humanitarian organizations to help secure fuel quickly to run generators in hospitals and health centers.
