Amman, Jan 12 (Petra) — Jordan’s Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) is analyzing the technical evaluation findings for Damascus International Airport as part of the process to potentially resume Jordanian commercial flights to Syria, CARC Chief Captain Haitham Misto announced Sunday.

The assessment outcomes, compiled by technical teams following their recent inspection visit to Damascus, will determine compliance with international aviation safety and operational requirements necessary for flight resumption.

“Jordan is keen to restore civil aviation links with Syria at the earliest possible opportunity, contingent upon full verification of all technical and logistical prerequisites ensuring international flight safety and security standards to Damascus,” Misto told Jordan News Agency (Petra).

The evaluation follows last week’s dispatch of a CARC technical committee to Damascus International Airport to conduct comprehensive safety and operational capability assessments, marking a significant step toward potential flight resumption between the two countries.
