Amman, Jan 12 (Petra) — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi discussed Sunday with British Ambassador Philip Hall prospects of further enhancing cooperation between the two countries in parliamentary and other fields.
Safadi noted the deep-rooted Anglo-Jordanian relations and the level of cooperation across various fields.
Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, he said, has been a voice of wisdom and moderation, stressing the need to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, adding that the region required the language of dialogue to prevail as the path out of crises.
The British envoy noted Jordan’s pivotal role in the stability and security of the region, voicing his country’s keenness on cementing relations to achieve common interests.
In attendance at the meeting were chair of the Parliamentary Affairs Committee, MP Dina Al-Bashir, and head of the Jordanian-British Parliamentary Friendship Association, MP Mohammad Maharmeh.
