Irbid, Jan. 12 (Petra) – The Mayor of Greater Irbid Municipality, Nabil Kofahi, held discussions with the UNRWA’s representative in Jordan, Olaf Becker, regarding areas of mutual cooperation. The meeting was attended by several UNRWA officials in Irbid Governorate and the head of the Irbid Camp Improvement Committee, Mahmoud Fawaz.
Kofahi highlighted the municipality’s efforts to provide various services and maintain cleanliness in Irbid Camp, despite the political and economic challenges recently facing UNRWA. He emphasized the municipality’s ongoing commitment to serving the camp’s residents.
In response, Becker expressed gratitude to the mayor and the municipality’s teams for their continued collaboration with the agency, particularly in solid waste management. He noted that the ongoing cleanup campaigns have saved over JD50,000 Jordanian.
The representatives conducted a tour of Irbid Camp, which included visits to UNRWA schools, the Disability Rehabilitation Center, and participated in a cleaning campaign organized by the municipality. The campaign took place along Balat Shuhada’ Street and within neighborhoods of the camp in the Al-Nasr area.
