Gaza, Jan. 13 (Petra) – The Government Media Office in Gaza has called on the international community and United Nations organizations to urgently intervene to save the lives of medical and healthcare workers.
In a statement issued on Monday, the office highlighted the increasing severe violations against medical, healthcare, and civilian personnel by the Israeli occupation. It reiterated its appeal to the international community and international and UN organizations to demand the immediate release of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya and all other detained medical and healthcare workers. The number of such detainees has exceeded 350, all suffering under dire conditions in Israeli prisons.
The office also called for the provision of effective legal guarantees to protect all medical and healthcare teams and Palestinian detainees from violations and torture. It urged the international community to raise its voice against these recurring crimes, which are exacerbated by ongoing silence regarding the suffering of the Palestinian people.
