Jordan, led by King, has provided all possible forms of aid to Gaza, said JHCO SG

Zarqa, Jan 14 (Petra) – Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), Hussein Shibli, said that under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, Jordan has provided all possible forms of aid to support its brothers in the Gaza Strip.

During a press conference held following His Majesty’s visit to the JHCO, Shibli stated that His Majesty directed the construction of additional warehouses, the increase of aid trucks, and the provision of larger quantities of humanitarian supplies for Gaza. The JHCO plans to expand its storage facilities by approximately 10,000 square meters in response to these royal directives.

He noted that the 140th convoy, which departed Tuesday, is the largest humanitarian aid convoy sent to Gaza. It comprises 120 trucks loaded with food supplies, medical equipment, and relief materials.

Shibli highlighted that since the onset of the conflict, the JHCO has sent approximately 73,000 tons of aid to Gaza, valued at over $212 million. These efforts have benefited nearly 1.4 million individuals.

The JHCO is actively working within Gaza, providing hot meals, clean water, and bread through mobile bakeries for the local population.

Shibli also mentioned the King’s initiatives, such as the “Restore Hope” program for supporting amputees in Gaza, which has benefited 245 individuals. Additionally, the operation of an obstetrics and gynecology hospital in collaboration with the Royal Medical Services exemplifies Jordan’s pioneering role in establishing field hospitals and developing innovative mechanisms to deliver aid despite challenges.

Jordan has been proactive since the first day of the Israeli aggression, dispatching 53 planes to Al-Arish Airport in Egypt. Once ground routes became viable, 140 convoys were sent to Gaza.

“These efforts underscore Jordan’s unwavering commitment as the closest supporter of Palestinians and Gaza in every capacity and through all its resources,” said Shibli.

The aid is made possible through contributions from individuals, institutions, and local and international organizations, as well as support from friendly and sisterly nations and regional and international entities.

Shibli emphasized that the JHCO continues to fulfill its role and stands ready to provide additional assistance, particularly if a ceasefire agreement is reached.

He also highlighted the launch of a nationwide campaign to collect donations for Gaza, which witnessed active participation from citizens and institutions.

Through this comprehensive effort, Jordan reaffirms its global humanitarian presence and its unwavering dedication to supporting its brothers in their most challenging circumstances.
