Amman, Jan. 15 (Petra) – Jordan’s position backed will of the Syrian people and expresses ” sincere” bilateral relations and supports Syria’s security, territorial integrity, and stability of its institutions, Chairman of Senate’s Arab, International and Expatriate Affairs Committee, Dr. Hani Mulki, said.
During a committee session to discuss regional developments Wednesday, Mulki noted this stance “positively” reflects on the Kingdom’s interests and consolidates its border security.
Mulki praised His Majesty King Abdullah II’s positions to support Arab issues, especially the Palestinian cause and his efforts to stop the Israeli war on Gaza and achieve a comprehensive calm in the region.
Mulki also referred to His Majesty’s affirmation of Jordan’s support for Syria in building a “free, independent state with full sovereignty.”
The Kingdom, he noted, is discussing cooperation mechanisms in the energy, water, trade, and security fields with the new authority in Damascus.
Meanwhile, the committee’s members stressed the need to maintain communication and coordination with Syria to strengthen relations and means of joint cooperation to serve common interests.
