Amman, Jan. 21 (Petra) — President of the General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions (GFJTU), Khaled Al-Fanatseh, met with Egypt’s Minister of Labor, Mohamed Gibran, in Cairo. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ongoing Central Council meeting of the International Confederation of Arab Trade Unions, currently being held in Egypt.
The discussions focused on strengthening labor union efforts in the Arab world and advancing the role of the Arab trade union movement through a unified platform. The aim is to unite the various trade unions across the region, enhance cooperative efforts, and improve mechanisms for joint Arab action.
Al-Fanatseh reiterated the GFJTU’s support for initiatives aimed at consolidating Arab labor organizations, allowing them to share expertise and tackle challenges such as rising unemployment, job creation, and economic policies impacting the region.
