Safadi: Jordan advancing in women, youth empowerment

Amman, Feb. 2 (Petra) – Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Ahmad Safadi, said Jordan is advancing with “clear” steps and goals to empowering women and youth in all fields, based on a firm Royal belief expressed by His Majesty King Abdullah II during the launch of political, economic and administrative modernization paths.

Safadi added that Jordanian women have made “obvious” achievements in their various positions and demonstrated “high” capability in managing public affairs.

Inaugurating on Sunday the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Women’s Affairs Forum, themed: “National Strategies,” Safadi voiced the House’s support to “sincere” national effort aimed at empowering women.

The event, he noted, represents a “true” opportunity to present “important” recommendations to push the committee’s “remarkable” efforts to make further progress in this regard.

Safadi stated Jordan today can rely on “evident” features in the Economic Modernization Vision to unleashing women’s energies to contribute “effectively” to enhance their presence and role in various sectors.

Meanwhile, Minister of Social Development and the Committee’s Head, Wafa Bani Mustafa, said the panel inspired development plans from the King’s visions in launching the three political, economic and administrative modernization paths, which would improve Jordanians’ life quality at all levels.

Bani Mustafa indicated that the core axes of these Royal visions eye to emphasize role of youth and women in the Kingdom’s development process and stress the necessity of outlining the legislative and political environment that guarantees their engagement in public life.
