
Amman, Feb. 2 (Petra) – Chairman of Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC), Mohammad Thneibat, discussed with Rwandan Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa, ways to launch joint cooperation in the field of phosphate fertilizer industry and meet needs of Rwandan Ministry of Agriculture and market, as well as number of East African countries.
During the meeting, Thneibat said the company is “open” to global markets and seeks to diversify its partnerships to enhance its presence and “competitiveness” in the global fertilizer market.
The company, he noted, is “ready” to partner and cooperate with Rwanda in the field of phosphate fertilizer industry, or sign a long-term agreement to supply this African nation with its phosphate fertilizer needs.
Upon the ambassador’s request, he stated the company is “ready” to enter into a partnership with the Rwandan side to mine phosphate ores for manufacturing purposes and establish joint projects with the relevant authorities on both sides.
Meanwhile, the envoy highlighted the “deep-rooted” bilateral relations, stressing her country’s keenness to develop and build on them to serve common interests.
The diplomat expressed her readiness to arrange joint meetings for concerned stakeholders in Rwanda’s phosphate fertilizer sector, especially Ministry of Agriculture and JPMC to study establishing a joint partnership and benefit from Jordanian expertise in this field.
Bakuramutsa also praised the Kingdom’s “advanced” level in phosphate fertilizer production, manufacturing and utilization, describing her visit to the JPMC headquarters as “constructive and laid the foundation for further joint cooperation relations.”
