Amman, Feb. 23 (Petra) — The Southern Military Zone successfully intercepted a drug smuggling attempt involving a drone early Sunday morning along the Kingdom’s western border.
A military source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces/ Arab Army reported that border guard forces, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, foiled an attempt to smuggle goods using a drone that attempted to cross the border illegally.
The source indicated that rules of engagement were applied, and the drone was downed inside Jordanian territory. The seized materials were handed over to the relevant authorities.
The military source emphasized the Jordanian Armed Forces’ commitment to utilizing all available resources to prevent smuggling and infiltration activities, ensuring the security and stability of the Kingdom.
