Morocco’s Social Integrity Minister Holds Talks with Several African, Arab Peers at GDS 2025

Ben Yahya met with Guinea’s Minister for the Advancement of Women, Children and Vulnerable Persons Charlotte Daffé, Burkina Faso’s Minister for Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity Passowendé Pélagie Kaboré and Jordan’s Minister for Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa. 

Discussions focused on ways of strengthening cooperation between Morocco and Guinea, Burkina Faso and Jordan in the social field, in particular in regards to improving the situation of people with disabilities. 

In a statement to MAP following her meeting with Ben Yahya, the Guinean minister stressed the importance of driving Moroccan-Guinean efforts to include people with disabilities.

“There is a clear political will, in both Guinea and Morocco, to advance the rights of people living with disabilities”, Daffé asserted, highlighting the advances made by her country, notably the creation of a social development and indigence fund for the most destitute households, as well as autonomous public establishments to support people with disabilities.

For her part, the Burkinabe Minister lauded the strength and excellence of the cooperative relations between her country and Morocco, founded on sincere fraternity between the two peoples. 

“The meeting opened up new prospects for cooperation, particularly in the fields of social protection and the inclusion of people with disabilities,” Kaboré said, praising Morocco’s experience in this field, which Burkina Faso would like to learn from.

In turn, the meeting with Jordan’s Minister of Social Development provided an opportunity to exchange views on the progress made in both countries in the field of social protection, with particular emphasis on support for vulnerable families and the empowerment of people with disabilities, women and young people.

Bani Mustafa told MAP that she and her Moroccan counterpart had agreed on the importance of sharing expertise in the professionalization of social work, with particular emphasis on developing the skills of social workers, with the aim of improving the quality of services provided to the most vulnerable populations.

The event also highlighted exchanging experiences on the organization of the associative sector, she stressed, while welcoming the modernization efforts undertaken by Morocco and Jordan, on both legislative and procedural levels, in favor of better governance, greater transparency and greater effectiveness of civil society in the service of local communities.

Ben Yahya is taking part in the 3rd Global Disability Summit at the head of a Moroccan delegation including Secretary of State for Social Integration Abdeljebbar Rachidi, Wali in charge of National Coordination of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) Mohammed Dardouri and Director of Entraide Nationale Khettar El Mojahidi, in the presence of Moroccan Ambassador to Germany Zohour Alaoui.

Morocco's Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family Naïma Ben Yahya met with several of her African and Arab counterparts in Berlin on Wednesday, on the sidelines of her participation, at the head of a Moroccan delegation, in the 3rd Global Disability Summit (GDS 2025).
