Amman, May 12 (Petra) – The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced on Monday the enforcement of a fine of up to SAR 20,000 (approximately JD3,700) for individuals caught performing or attempting to perform Hajj without an official permit.
The measure is in effect from the first day of Dhu al-Qadah until the end of the 14th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the ministry said in a statement.
The penalty applies to all violators, including both citizens and residents. For expatriates found in violation, the ministry said they will be deported and barred from re-entering the kingdom for 10 years.
