Prime Minister meets with head of Jordan Press Association 

Amman, May 18 (Petra) — Prime Minister Jafar Hassan held discussions on Sunday with Tariq Momani head of the Jordan Press Association (JPA) as part of ongoing engagements with representatives from various national sectors, including professional associations.

Hassan congratulated Momani and the newly elected JPA members victory in the Association elections. He expressed his wishes for their success in fulfilling their responsibilities effectively.

Hassan reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining open communication with the media and emphasised the importance of strengthening media independence and professionalism, which he described as essential and supported by the government.

He outlined efforts to advance the digitisation of the media sector, highlighting the significance of collaboration with the JPA to implement the initiative. He noted that such efforts would contribute to the development of the national media landscape and bolster its role.

In turn, Mamani praised the government’s dedication to engaging with various sectors, including the media. He emphasised that the JPA aims to enhance the media environment and improve the conditions of journalistic work, guided by standards of professionalism and responsibility.

Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani attended the meeting.
