Amman, May 18 (Petra) – MP Awni Zoubi has been elected rapporteur of the Standing Committee on Peace and International Security of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), during the union’s recent conference held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Zoubi emphasized that parliamentary diplomacy plays a vital role in international relations, especially when global instability is on the rise. He called for intensified efforts to promote comprehensive peace and security in a world plagued by conflicts.
He also noted the importance of adopting initiatives that foster the exchange of ideas and viewpoints to serve mutual interests.
