Amman, May 21 (Petra)– Minister of Health Firas Hawari is leading the Jordanian delegation at the 78th World Health Assembly currently underway in Geneva, Switzerland, under the theme “One World, One Health.”

This participation is part of Jordan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its role in international health cooperation. The country aims to share its experiences, exchange expertise, and tackle shared health challenges, including epidemics and cross-border health emergencies.

The participation also serves as a platform to enhance partnerships with international organizations and friendly nations, and explore ways to support and develop Jordan’s healthcare system, aligning with the country’s priorities to build an integrated healthcare system capable of meeting citizens’ aspirations and ensuring their right to comprehensive and sustainable healthcare.

The assembly’s agenda focuses on a variety of critical global health topics, including strengthening health systems to handle emergencies, promoting universal health coverage, combating both communicable and non-communicable diseases, and improving access to essential healthcare services.

It will also discuss global cooperation, the advancement of health goals, and efforts to implement the World Health Organization’s pandemic treaty and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being.

Throughout the meetings, there will be strategic discussions aimed at addressing pressing global health priorities, where experts and representatives from across the world will exchange ideas and solutions.
