Amman, March 21 (Petra) – The Ministry of Justice has implemented approximately 605 alternative sentences since the beginning of this year, aimed to reduce financial costs and overcrowding in Jordan’s correctional and rehabilitation centers.
According to figures obtained by “Petra” from the Ministry’s Media Directorate, about 45,256 trials and 101,701 transactions were completed with notary publics in the Kingdom’s relevant courts.
The ministry’s statistics also showed a total of 1,230 legal aid services were provided so far, while 2,445 electronic auctions have been conducted.
To date, the ministry has issued approximately 144,594 certificates of non-criminal record, including 10,448 in English.
The ministry has implemented 65 e-monitoring casesusing e-bracelets, as well as archiving approximately 13 million judicial documents in the courts nationwide.
