Dead Sea, May 21 (Petra) — Prime Minister Jafar Hassan toured the Dead Sea area on Wednesday to check on progress of the Amman Tourist Beach Rehabilitation Project.
Accompanied by Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh, Hassan urged acceleration of work to complete the project and open the beach to visitors during Independence Day and Eid al-Adha holidays.
He called for high-quality services, which are scheduled to run until 1:00 AM during the upcoming holidays.
Shawarbeh gave a briefing on the project, which covers a total area of 450 dunums and is powered by solar energy.
The first phase has been completed to accommodate 2,500 visitors. The rehabilitation work includes installment of 150 umbrellas, planting trees, building parking areas and sport facilities along with other services, such as food carts.
The beach is operated by Greater Amman Municipality staff, with logistical support by the Public Security Directorate and Civil Defence Defence Department to ensure safety and service quality.
