Amman, May 26 (Petra) — The Jordanian Armed Forces / Arab Army announced Monday that its Southern Military Region intercepted and downed a drone attempting to cross into Jordanian territory from the western border.
A military source said the incident occurred early in the morning along the southern region’s western front. The drone was detected and tracked by Border Guard units in coordination with military intelligence. Rules of engagement were applied, and the drone was successfully intercepted and brought down inside Jordan.
The source stressed that the Jordanian Armed Forces continue to deploy all operational, technical, and intelligence capabilities to counter any infiltration or smuggling attempts and to safeguard the security and stability of the Kingdom.
