Amman, May 26 (Petra) — King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) Monday launched an emergency food aid project for needy Jordanian families and Palestinian and Syrian refugees across Jordan, targeting about 25,000 beneficiaries.

The project includes the distribution of food coupons across the Kingdom’s governorates, allowing families to purchase their basic food needs with dignity and freedom of choice, JHCO said in statement.

The project is to bolster the humanitarian partnership with KSRelief to alleviate economic burdens on underprivileged families and achieve food security, said the statement.

KSRelief Jordan director Nayef bin Saleh Al-Shammari said the emergency food aid program aims to secure the daily food needs of most needy Jordanian families, Palestinian refugees, and Syrian refugees across the Kingdom’s governorates.

“It is part of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian efforts, through its humanitarian arm, the KSRelief, to enhance food security in Jordan,” he addd.

JHCO Secretary General Hussein Shibli commended ongoing KSRelief role to back up relief efforts in Jordan, which underlines the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Jordan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as it helps meet the needs of the most vulnerable groups amid economic challenges.
