Amman, May 26 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, met on Monday with his Turkish counterpart Lt. Gen. Metin Gurak in Ankara to discuss prospects of enhancing military cooperation and the exchange of expertise between the two countries in the face of common security challenges.

Huneiti was received in the Turkish capital with full military honors and a parade by a guard of honor.

He stressed Turkiye’s key and pivotal role in promoting regional security and stability, highlighting the importance of the strategic partnership and the quest to find new horizons for military and security cooperation to serve common interests.

Huneiti also met with Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler with the Jordanian ambassador, military attache and senior Jordan Armed Forces officers in attendance.

The Turkish minister expressed his appreciation for the deep historical ties with Jordan and Ankara’s pursuit of military and security cooperation.

He also commended the pivotal role of Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, and his relentless efforts to consolidate security and stability.
