Amman, May 26 (Petra) – Director General of the Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC), Omar Jwaid, said five Yemeni investments are currently operating in Jordan’s industrial cities, with a total value of JD45 million and providing around 250 job opportunities. The projects are concentrated in Al-Muwaqqar, Al-Hassan, and Salt industrial estates.
Jwaid gave his remarks during a visit by Yemen’s Ambassador to Jordan, Jalal Faqirah, who was briefed on Jordan’s advanced experience in developing industrial cities and the incentives and benefits offered to industrial investors.
In a statement issued Monday, Jwaid affirmed the JIEC’s readiness to share its expertise with Yemen to support the development of its own industrial cities. He called on the Yemeni business community to take advantage of Jordan’s investment incentives, especially those offered within the industrial cities, which provide all the necessary components for investment success and pave the way for global expansion.
For his part, Ambassador Faqirah praised the progress made by the JIEC, attributing it to the strong investment interest in the Kingdom, the wide range of benefits extended to investors, and Jordan’s solid international reputation and extensive network of investment agreements.
He said the meeting would serve as a starting point for future cooperation between Yemen and Jordan in the field of industrial cities. It also presents an opportunity to showcase Jordan’s investment advantages particularly in industrial zones to Yemeni business leaders and major investors looking to expand their regional presence.
