Gov’t places special emphasis on fostering investment in Tafileh., says minister

Amman, May 26 (Petra) – Minister of Investment Mothanna Gharaibeh said on Monday the government is placing special emphasis on boosting investment in Tafileh Governorate, describing it as a promising area with significant potential that deserves greater development opportunities.

During a visit to Tafileh Industrial City, Gharaibeh said the Cabinet, in its session earlier in the day, approved a new package of investment incentives aimed at supporting the city. These include a 50% reduction in land prices, in addition to previous discounts, bringing the cost down to just JD5 per square metre. Newly established or registered companies and factories will also be exempt from electricity charges for three years from the date of the decision.

Gharaibeh said the move reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of Tafileh Industrial City by creating a supportive and appealing investment environment capable of attracting high-quality economic projects.

He added that supporting industrial cities in the governorates is a national priority to achieve comprehensive development and generate sustainable job opportunities for local communities.

The minister noted that the ministry is in contact with several investors and has been guiding them to benefit from the additional incentives available in Tafileh Industrial City. He stressed that the new measures are expected to accelerate investment decisions and lead to the establishment of on-the-ground projects.
