Israeli drone strike kills Lebanese civilian in southern Lebanon

Beirut, May 27 (Petra) – A Lebanese civilian was killed Tuesday evening in the town of Yater, Bint Jbeil District, southern Lebanon, following an Israeli drone strike targeting the motorcycle he was riding.

The Lebanese Army confirmed the incident in a statement, adding that it continues to monitor the situation on the ground in coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The statement also denounced the ongoing Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty and repeated attacks, particularly in the south.

In a related development, the army announced the discovery of an Israeli surveillance device, disguised and equipped with a camera, in the outskirts of the town of Blida, Marjeyoun District. A specialized military unit dismantled the device. Additionally, Lebanese forces removed two earthen berms erected by Israeli forces inside Lebanese territory in the towns of Blida and Meiss El Jabal.
