Momani attends JRTV’s celebration of independence day, founding anniversary

Amman, May 27 (Petra) – Minister of Government Communication and Mohammad Momani described Jordan’s Independence Day as a historic milestone that reflects the unshakable will, freedom, and nation-building spirit of Jordanians and their leadership.

Speaking during a celebration hosted by the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTV) to mark both Independence Day and the anniversary of its founding, Momani praised the pivotal role of the Jordanian media and its leaders in the country’s development journey.

In his keynote address, Momani emphasized that the decision to pursue independence was a unifying national and pan-Arab effort that embodied the sacrifices made for the sake of state-building and enhancing Jordan’s regional role. He said Jordanians, under their leadership, have consistently demonstrated resilience and commitment to safeguarding and advancing their nation since its establishment.

“The Hashemite-led national will has triumphed over every challenge, declaring Jordan a free and independent kingdom and continuing its path of modernization and development,” he noted.

Momani, who is also the government spokesperson, highlighted the role of JRTV since its inception in shaping public consciousness, saying the institution has long been a pioneer in promoting enlightenment and responsible discourse.

He fondly recalled the contributions of prominent Jordanian media figures, describing them as role models and beacons of professionalism. He urged JRTV to intensify its efforts to modernize and continue safeguarding national awareness and responsibility for future generations.

The minister stressed that JRTV and other national media institutions must stand as steadfast guardians against all threats and attempts to undermine the country’s interests.

He also thanked the media leaders and participants in the event, affirming that the Hashemite leadership has instilled in Jordanians a culture of partnership as a pathway to progress and achievement.

“Our partnership today is a message of our collective role in protecting Jordan’s independence and chronicling every effort made in defense of our country and values,” Momani said. “It is also a message to anyone who dares stray from the national path that we are the stronger, the more resilient, and that our voice is the truest and most eloquent.”
