Amman, May 28 (Petra) — Minister of Public Works and Housing Maher Abu Samen on Wednesday reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering support for Syria’s reconstruction after 14 years of crisis.
He spoke during a meeting with head of the Syrian Engineers Syndicate, Malek Haj Ali, in the presence of Jordan Engineers Association President, Abdullah Ghosheh, to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two neighboring countries in engineering and reconstruction.
The minister highlighted the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to provide all possible support to Syria.
Abu Samen said all Jordanian sectors, especially engineering and consulting, are ready to extend a helping hand and build strategic partnerships with Syria in the reconstruction of infrastructure and development projects.
He pointed to Jordan’s engineering and contracting expertise, calling for utilizing these capabilities in Syrian projects in the coming period.
The Jordanian government has created an appropriate environment for Jordanian companies and engineers to participate in reconstruction opportunities, he said.
For his part, Haj Ali commended Jordan for its support, pointing to the destruction to Syria’s infrastructure and public and private institutions, and his country’s willingness to benefit from Jordan’s expertise in the engineering and construction fields.
