Aqaba authorities say ship, cargo traffic operate as usual

Aqaba, June 15 (Petra) — Mahmoud Khleifat, Director General of the Aqaba Company for Ports Management and Operations, said Sunday that ship and cargo traffic at the Port of Aqaba is operating smoothly and according to scheduled plans.

In an interview with the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Khleifat said emergency and public safety protocols have been activated across all major port facilities.

He stated that ship arrival is aligned with regular schedules and follow organised procedures that ensure the highest standards of maritime safety.

He added that port authorities and relevant agencies are closely monitoring all operations related to ship safety, arrivals and departures.

Khleifat highlighted that all port facilities are functioning efficiently around the clock to handle various goods and supply local markets.

He praised the port’s readiness and the professionalism of its teams, especially during regional instability.

He added that, as a vital regional hub, Aqaba continues to serve as a key link in the region, distinguished by its reputation, competitiveness, security and stability.
