Amman, June 17 (Petra) – The Senate’s Jordanian-Bahraini Brotherhood Committee, headed by Tawfiq Krishan, on Tuesday discussed with Bahraini Ambassador to Jordan, Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields.
Talking at the meeting held Jordan’s Senate headquarters, Krishan stressed the “deep-rooted, brotherly and historic” Jordanian-Bahraini ties, founded by the two kingdoms’ leaders, which represent “a model” for joint Arab action.
Krishan called for exploring mechanisms for joint cooperation in various fields, especially in parliamentary work, exchange of parliamentary visits, and means to strengthen economic and investment partnerships to achieve common interests.
Krishan also highlighted Jordan’s “firm” positions, under His Majesty King Abdullah II’s leadership, on various regional issues, mainly the Palestinian cause and the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, amid the region’s current situation.
Krishan stressed the need to find political solutions to the region’s conflicts to achieve security and stability.
The Bahraini envoy, in turn, affirmed his country’s “keenness” to advance bilateral relations to the “highest” levels in various fields, mainly in the political, parliamentary, cultural, health, trade, and tourism areas to fulfill common aspirations.
Praising the “high” level of bilateral relations, he commended Jordan’s “pivotal” role, under His Majesty King Abdullah II’s leadership, in establishing peace and security in the region and his continuous efforts to find a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
