Gaza Death Toll Rises to 55,493 as Israeli Attacks Continue

Gaza, June 17 (Petra) – The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported on Tuesday that 61 people were killed and 397 others injured in the past 24 hours due to continued Israeli airstrikes.

Among the fatalities, six bodies were recovered from beneath rubble.

In its daily update, the Ministry noted that many victims remain trapped under debris and in open areas, as ongoing hostilities prevent ambulance and civil defense teams from reaching them.

The total number of deaths resulting from the Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, has reached 55,493, with 129,320 people wounded. Since the resumption of Israeli strikes on March 18, 2024, 5,194 deaths and 17,279 injuries have been recorded.

The Ministry also reported that since Tuesday morning, 59 individuals killed while attempting to access humanitarian aid have arrived at hospitals, along with more than 200 injured. This raises the total number of casualties from attacks on aid distribution zones to 397 dead and over 3,031 wounded.
