Amman, June 17 (Petra) — Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Polish Foreign Minister Rados?aw Sikorski discussed over the phone on Tuesday escalation in the region and efforts to de-escalate tensions.

Safadi and Sikorski called for coordinated efforts to reduce tensions and return to negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue.

Safadi said the Kingdom condemns Israel’s aggression against Iran and warned of “serious” fallout.

He called for more international efforts to end Israeli aggression in Gaza, noting that Jordan supports the ongoing efforts by Egypt, Qatar and the United States to facilitate a prisoner exchange agreement.

Safadi expressed concern that the international community is neglecting the catastrophic conditions and famine resulting from Israeli violations in Gaza and warned against putting the efforts to end this aggression on the back-burner amid the rising tensions between Israel and Iran.

He called for international action to protect prospects for peace by halting Israel’s illegal and escalating measures in the occupied West Bank, which threaten the two-state solution.

The top diplomats reaffirmed the ties between Jordan and Poland and committed to continued efforts to enhance cooperation.
