Amman, June 18 (Petra) – His Majesty King Abdullah II’s speech at the European Parliament was a “milestone at a critical global moment, reflecting a human conscience that dictates peace, justice, and respect for the rights of peoples,” First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Dr. Mustafa Khasawneh, said.
Held at the House’s headquarters, the MP made the remarks during his meeting on Wednesday with a group of students engaged in the “Political Empowerment Camp” program, launched by the Ministry of Youth.
The lawmaker noted the Royal speech laid out a “clear” political roadmap, as His Majesty presented Jordan’s positions with “firmness and courage” to the international community, calling for promoting the logic of wisdom and peace.
Khasawneh added that the King focused on achieving development, stability and security, which constitute “essence” of Jordan’s role in supporting regional issues and striving for just and lasting solutions.
Locally, he noted the Kingdom’s political, administrative, and economic modernization paths are “proceeding in tandem.”
The MP also noted importance of empowering Jordan’s youth and women as the core reformaxis and enhancing their engagement in public life and party activities, supported by the new political Parties Law.
Additionally, he highlighted His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II’s role in supporting youth and and promoting citizenship-related values within voluntary work and community initiatives.
