Amman, June 22 (Petra) – An official military source from the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army said that the Eastern Military Region on Sunday foiled an attempt to smuggle crystal meth via drone within its area of responsibility.
The source stated that Border Guard forces, operating in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, detected a drone attempting to cross into Jordanian territory illegally. The drone was intercepted, shot down, and its illicit cargo was seized inside Jordan.
The confiscated materials were transferred to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
The source underscored the continued commitment of the Jordan Armed Forces to employing all available capabilities to counter infiltration and smuggling attempts, and to safeguard the Kingdom’s security and stability.
