New york, June 22 (Petra) The United Nations Security Council is set to convene an emergency session late Sunday to discuss the recent U.S. strikes on Iran under the agenda item titled “Threats to International Peace and Security.”
According to the United Nations, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will deliver opening remarks at the session, which will also feature briefings by Miroslav Jen?a, Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Central Asia and the Americas, and Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The emergency meeting comes amid growing international concern over escalating military actions in the Middle East and their potential ramifications for global security and stability.
