Oman Electricity & Energy Conference to Kick off in October 2025Muscat, 24 Jun (ONA) —— The fourth edition of the Oman Electricity and Energy Conference 2025 will take place during 13-15 October 2025 at Oman Convention and Exhibition Center. The event is organized by Nama Electricity Distribution Company.The announcement came during a press conference held today in Muscat by Nama Electricity Distribution, outlining preparations, local and international participation, and the key themes of the conference, which carries the slogan “Mechanisms to Accelerate Energy Transition Efforts in the Sultanate of Oman.”This year’s conference will explore opportunities to develop the energy mix, enhance grid efficiency, and leverage modern technologies such as artificial intelligence in the electricity sector—supporting Oman’s ongoing national efforts to advance sustainable energy strategies and meet the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.The event is expected to attract over 2,000 participants and more than 100 speakers from over 30 countries. It will feature a diverse program of panel discussions, workshops, and an accompanying exhibition where institutions can showcase the latest solutions and technologies in electricity and energy. Dr. Ahmed Zaid Al-Shaqsi, Director General of Strategy and Sustainability at Nama Electricity Distribution, stated: “The conference aims to provide a scientific and professional platform that brings together specialists, decision-makers, and experts from within Oman and abroad.” He emphasized that the event will discuss the future of Oman’s energy sector, sharing the latest solutions and experiences in renewable energy, grid development, energy efficiency, and digital transformation. “We hope this conference will contribute to advancing energy transition through productive dialogue, effective knowledge exchange, and practical solutions that support the sustainability of Oman’s national resources,” he added. “It reflects Nama’s role as an active partner in empowering national competencies and strengthening local and international cooperation, fostering partnerships for a thriving energy future.”On his turn, Dr. Ahmed Said Al Maashari, Head of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Sultan Qaboos University and Chairman of the Oman Society of Engineers highlighted that “this conference serves as a vital platform for discussing energy transition, aligning with technological advancements to serve communities.”“Oman’s commitment to energy transition opens promising avenues for discussion and development,” he noted, expressing optimism that the conference’s sessions will help shape the next phase of sustainable development.
